A court visit in Uttar Pradesh’s Maharajganj took a violent turn when a woman was allegedly assaulted during a confrontation inside the judicial complex. The incident, portions of which were captured on video, later led to police registering a case and arresting two people.

The woman, identified as Priya, had reportedly reached the court for proceedings related to a maintenance case. According to her complaint, her husband Manish Kumar Mishra, Prince Mishra and Satish Mishra surrounded her on the premises and assaulted her. She further alleged that an attempt was made to strangle her during the confrontation.

The dispute intensified when Priya’s father and sister intervened. She alleged that they were also assaulted while trying to protect her. Police personnel present on the court premises reportedly intervened and brought the confrontation under control.

After the incident, a video showing the confrontation surfaced. Police registered an FIR on the basis of the woman’s complaint and the available footage. Reports said her husband and brother-in-law were later arrested and sent to jail.

The episode has attracted attention because the alleged violence unfolded within a court complex and in the presence of others. With the FIR registered and two arrests made, the case has now moved into the legal process, where the allegations and circumstances surrounding the confrontation will be examined further.
