Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 Campaign Launched Nationwide

New Delhi, August 07, 2026

The nationwide launch of the Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 campaign marks another step in strengthening public participation in India's Independence Day celebrations. Scheduled to run from August 9 to August 17, 2026, the initiative encourages citizens across the country to proudly hoist the national flag while taking part in activities that promote patriotism, national unity, and collective responsibility. Having evolved beyond a symbolic observance, the campaign continues to serve as a platform for bringing communities together in celebration of the nation's identity.

Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat inaugurated the campaign in New Delhi. Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he said that the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative, launched in 2022 under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, has now become an annual national tradition, with millions of citizens voluntarily hoisting the Tricolour every Independence Day. He further said that Har Ghar Tiranga has grown far beyond a flag-hoisting campaign and has transformed into a nationwide celebration driven by community participation, cultural programmes, heritage-related activities, and digital engagement.

The Union Minister also said that Har Ghar Tiranga has become a true people's movement, celebrated across the country with immense enthusiasm and patriotism. He said that the Tricolour is much more than a national flag; it represents India's unity, pride, and shared national identity. He said that the Tricolour symbolises the courage and sacrifice of countless men and women who defended the nation and laid down their lives in its service. Shekhawat stressed that the national flag inspires every Indian regardless of region or social background and said that the campaign offers citizens an opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to the goal of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

He further said that this year's Har Ghar Tiranga campaign carries added significance as it coincides with the 150th anniversary of India's national song, Vande Mataram, making the celebrations even more meaningful while encouraging greater public participation. As the campaign begins across the country, it aims to reinforce the spirit of unity, patriotism, and shared national purpose, encouraging citizens to actively contribute to the vision of a stronger and more developed India.
