Minor’s Reckless Drive Leaves Two Brothers Seriously Injured in Hyderabad

New Delhi, August 02, 2026

A road accident in Hyderabad’s Borabanda area has once again highlighted the dangers of underage and unlicensed driving. On Sunday, a 17-year-old boy allegedly driving a Maruti Baleno without a licence crashed into seven parked two-wheelers before hitting a motorcycle carrying two brothers, leaving both seriously injured.

CCTV footage showed the minor allegedly losing control of the car and crashing into the parked vehicles before colliding with the motorcycle. The impact threw both brothers off the bike. While one managed to move away from the car’s path and escaped with minor injuries, the other was struck by the vehicle and became trapped underneath it. Bystanders rushed to the spot and lifted the car to rescue him.

The injured men were identified as Rajkumar, 60, and Prabhakar, 55, who were reportedly travelling to church. Both sustained serious injuries and were taken to separate private hospitals. The minor allegedly attempted to flee after the crash, but locals chased and caught him nearby and allegedly assaulted him before police arrived.

According to police, the minor allegedly took the car after finding its keys inside the vehicle following a cleaning job. Madhuranagar Police have registered a case, while further investigation is underway. The incident serves as another stark reminder of the serious risks posed when minors take control of vehicles without a valid licence.
