Inside Ananya Panday’s Stylish Bandra Home Designed by Gauri Khan

Mumbai, October 01, 2026

Ananya Panday’s first Mumbai home reflects a new chapter in her life. The 1,100-square-foot Bandra apartment, designed by Gauri Khan, combines playful colours, natural textures, greenery and abundant daylight. Beyond its stylish interiors, the home also represents Panday’s growing independence and her experience of taking responsibility for a space of her own.

Although the apartment is only a few floors away from her parents’ residence, it gives Panday an environment where she can make her own choices, from selecting cutlery to deciding how she wants to host guests. “I think it has become a symbol and metaphor for me actually growing up and taking responsibility,” Panday told Architectural Digest in 2025. Her long-standing relationship with Gauri Khan also made the designer a natural choice for the project. “Honestly, I didn't have to say much to her because I've grown up around her and she's been like another mother to me,” she said.

The interiors are built around a mix of soft and cheerful colours. A pink entrance door leads into a corridor with pink fluted walls, while similar shades continue into the bedroom and walk-in wardrobe. The kitchen features baby-blue cabinets paired with white countertops. In contrast, the living and dining areas use beige and cream tones, with textured surfaces, wallpapers, rugs, mirrors and custom furniture adding character while maintaining a sense of openness.

Large windows overlooking Bandra’s leafy surroundings fill the apartment with natural light, while indoor plants and a spacious balcony enhance its relaxed feel. Panday especially enjoys the area near the balcony, where she can spend time with the breeze and sunlight. “I can sit in this exact spot for hours. I don't even realize how time passes, because this window is always open and the breeze comes in and there's lots of natural light,” she said. The home also features a compact kitchen, television area and book collection, while baking has become one of Panday’s ways to unwind.

The apartment has also played a role in Panday’s adjustment to living independently. She initially wanted to keep everything untouched, joking that she wanted the space to remain like a museum, but eventually discovered that friends and family made it feel more like a real home. “A big thing for me was learning how to be alone. Even if I'm just quiet and there's noise around me, I don't have to talk to someone all the time, which I really needed to do before this,” she said. With its personalised interiors and lived-in warmth, the Bandra apartment has become more than just a stylish residence—it reflects Panday’s evolving sense of independence and adulthood.
