Doctor Doom’s mysterious agenda in Avengers: Doomsday may involve far more than confronting Earth’s strongest heroes. Recent footage reportedly shows Doom approaching Hulk with the intention of “collecting” him, raising the possibility that Victor Von Doom is quietly removing powerful characters from the battlefield or bringing them into his own plans. The Russo brothers have also indicated that Doom’s interest could extend beyond Bruce Banner, suggesting that Hulk may not be his only target.

Spider-Man could be one of the characters already caught in Doom’s strategy. The post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Brand New Day left Peter Parker away from Earth, while unusual electrical glitches seen there have been compared with those accompanying Doom’s appearance. Captain Marvel is another possible target, particularly because Carol Danvers’ immense power could make her a major obstacle to Doom. Keeping her imprisoned or attempting to persuade her to cooperate would remove one of the MCU’s most powerful heroes from the opposing side.

Doctor Strange also fits the theory because of his connection to the multiverse. After beginning a journey with Clea to deal with an incursion, Strange could potentially encounter Doom and become either an opponent or an unwilling participant in his plans. Scarlet Witch is another possibility. Although Wanda Maximoff appeared to die in Multiverse of Madness, her fate was never directly confirmed, while Doom’s association with Latverian witches has fueled theories that she could somehow be connected to his forces.

Doom could also have his sights on Jean Grey and Monica Rambeau. Jean’s immense telekinetic abilities would make her valuable to Doom, while a different multiversal version of the character could potentially explain the absence of another familiar Jean Grey. Monica, meanwhile, has demonstrated powers connected to dimensional energy and was left stranded in another universe at the end of The Marvels. Storm could similarly be among Doom’s targets, with her absence from the announced lineup potentially leaving room for an unexpected role.

For now, none of these theories confirms that the seven heroes will actually become part of Doom’s side. They could instead be prisoners, targets or characters whose stories simply unfold elsewhere. However, if Hulk is indeed the first major hero Doom has deliberately “collected,” Avengers: Doomsday could reveal that the villain has been preparing his multiversal strategy by dealing with Marvel’s most powerful characters long before the larger conflict begins.
