Delhi Metro Begins Work on Central Vista Corridor at Central Secretariat

New Delhi,  June 24, 2026

Delhi’s urban mobility network is moving into another phase of expansion as infrastructure work begins to strengthen connectivity around the national capital’s administrative hub. The latest development under Delhi Metro’s expansion plan focuses on improving access to the Central Vista region and supporting future commuter demand.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has started construction-related work at Central Secretariat Metro Station for the upcoming Central Vista Corridor. Initial activity has begun near Gate No. 3 of the station as part of the next stage of metro network development in the city.

The corridor is being developed under Delhi Metro’s Phase V(A) expansion and will connect RK Ashram Marg to Indraprastha. The project is expected to improve access to government office zones and nearby public areas, making movement more efficient for daily commuters and visitors. Once operational, the route is expected to support smoother transit across key sections of central Delhi.

With this addition, Central Secretariat is set to evolve beyond its current interchange role and emerge as a more connected transit point in Delhi’s metro ecosystem. The project reflects the city’s broader focus on strengthening public transport infrastructure while preparing for future passenger growth.
