PM Modi Launches Major Rail Boost in Telangana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated railway projects worth ₹1,535 crore in Telangana, highlighting the Centre’s continued focus on expanding transport infrastructure and improving railway connectivity across the State. The projects are expected to strengthen rail operations, support smoother passenger movement and improve freight transportation efficiency.
One of the major projects includes the Kazipet–Vijayawada multi-tracking line, developed to increase railway capacity on one of the country’s busiest routes. The project is expected to reduce congestion, improve train punctuality and allow better traffic management along the important railway corridor.
The Prime Minister also dedicated the Kazipet Rail Under Rail Bypass, aimed at easing congestion at Kazipet Junction and enabling smoother train movement towards Hyderabad, Balharshah and Vijayawada. Officials stated that the development would help improve operational efficiency and modernise railway infrastructure in the region.
Along with railway projects, several other development initiatives related to roads, healthcare and industry were also launched during the visit. The projects are expected to contribute to Telangana’s infrastructure growth and strengthen connectivity across key sectors.
