Game Changer’ Farmer ID Drive: Rampur Tops Uttar Pradesh by Achieving 100% Target Ahead of Deadline

Rampur | 18 March 2026

In a major boost to farmer welfare initiatives, the “Farmer Registry” campaign in Uttar Pradesh has shown significant progress, with Rampur emerging as the top-performing district. The district achieved 100% of its target creating around 2,09,828 Farmer IDs well before the March 31 deadline, securing the first position across the state. Ghaziabad and Ambedkar Nagar followed in second and third place respectively.

Launched to ensure direct access to government schemes for farmers, the campaign aligns with the vision of Yogi Adityanath. The drive, running from January 1 to March 31, aims to provide farmers with a unique ID that simplifies access to benefits such as financial assistance, subsidies, and procurement services.

Officials credited Rampur’s success to innovative strategies and strict administrative monitoring. District Magistrate Ajay Kumar Dwivedi stated that awareness campaigns including cultural programs, village meetings, wall paintings, and mobile outreach played a key role. Government officials from multiple departments also conducted door-to-door visits, while regular reviews ensured accountability and timely completion of targets.

Across the state, the government has set a target of creating over 2.88 crore Farmer IDs, out of which nearly 1.99 crore have already been completed. The Farmer ID system is expected to act as a “game changer,” enabling farmers to receive benefits like PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, subsidised fertilisers, easier access to Kisan Credit Cards, and smooth sale of crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP), while reducing paperwork and delays.
