The ceremonial start of Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026 was marked with the traditional Pratham Puja inside the holy Amarnath Cave Shrine in Jammu and Kashmir. Considered an important spiritual milestone before the annual pilgrimage begins, the ritual reflects both devotion and preparations for one of the country’s most significant religious journeys.
The ceremony was performed by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor and Chairman of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Manoj Sinha, inside the sacred cave shrine. During the occasion, prayers were offered for peace, prosperity, and progress in Jammu and Kashmir and across the country. The event also signaled the final phase of preparations ahead of the pilgrimage season.
