NEET Re-Exam Readiness Put to Test Across India
New Delhi, 20 June 2026
As millions of students await another crucial examination day, authorities have intensified preparations to ensure a smoother and more secure process. With transparency and operational readiness becoming the central focus, a nationwide mock drill was conducted ahead of the NEET-UG re-examination.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) carried out the exercise across examination centres on June 20 to assess arrangements and identify possible gaps before the re-exam. The test was designed to check coordination between officials, strengthen security systems and confirm that centres are fully prepared for large-scale operations.
The NEET-UG re-examination is scheduled to be conducted in pen-and-paper mode across 551 Indian cities and 14 international locations, involving more than 22 lakh candidates. Trial runs and monitoring mechanisms were activated to ensure the process remains organised and free from irregularities.
Officials said the extensive preparations aim to reinforce confidence in the examination system and deliver a fair experience for candidates. Students have also been advised to rely only on official updates and follow authorised communication channels for examination-related information.
