Environmental conservation requires collective action, making public participation a crucial factor in addressing ecological challenges. On World Environment Day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the need for greater community involvement in protecting natural resources and preserving the environment. He emphasized that sustainable development can only be achieved when citizens actively contribute to conservation efforts alongside government initiatives.

Addressing a seminar on climate change challenges in Uttar Pradesh, the Chief Minister pointed to the increasing impact of changing weather patterns on agriculture and daily life. He noted that irregular seasonal cycles and unpredictable rainfall have emerged as significant concerns over the past two decades, underscoring the need for timely measures to reduce environmental risks and strengthen resilience against climate-related challenges.

To encourage responsible environmental practices, Yogi Adityanath administered five pledges to the people of the state. These included planting trees under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, ensuring the protection of planted saplings, conserving water resources, avoiding single-use plastic, and adopting environmentally conscious lifestyles. He also stressed the importance of preventing water wastage and making conservation a regular part of everyday life.

Reinforcing the connection between Indian traditions and nature conservation, the Chief Minister called for active efforts to safeguard ponds, wetlands, and other water bodies. He said environmental protection is not solely the responsibility of the government but a shared commitment that requires participation from every section of society. His remarks underscored the importance of collective responsibility in securing a healthier and more sustainable future.
