Deepinder Goyal Sets Strict Fitness Bar While Hiring for ‘Temple’ Wearable Project
New Delhi | 27 Feb 2026
Deepinder Goyal has sparked fresh discussion on social media with a recruitment post for his experimental wearable device, Temple. Announcing the hiring drive on X, Goyal said the team is building a next-generation wearable meant for elite performance athletes, focusing on precision and capabilities not seen in existing devices. He wrote, "We're recruiting at @temple. At Temple, we are building the ultimate wearable for elite performance athletes, a device that measures what no other wearable in the world measures, with a level of precision that does not exist yet."
Goyal explained that the project needs people who are deeply committed to both technology and fitness. According to him, the ideal candidates are engineers who are also athletes and who will personally use the product they help create. He added, "To build it, we need people who are obsessive about both the craft and the category, engineers who are also athletes, people who will wear what they build and hate it until it is perfect." The hiring spans multiple roles, including Analog Systems Engineers, Embedded Systems Engineers, Computational Neuroscientists, BCI Engineers, Neural Decoding Researchers and Computer Vision Engineers. He also mentioned the need for “product managers who work through Figma without needing a designer to hold their hand.”
What drew the most attention, however, was the fitness requirement mentioned in the post. Goyal clearly stated, "Important – we are building for people who push their bodies to the edge. We want to be those people, not just serve them, so only people who take fitness seriously and have body fat <16% for men and 26% for women should apply." He added that candidates who are not yet at that level but are willing to reach it within three months can also apply, though they would remain on probation until then. Applicants were asked to write to build@temple.com
with their core skill in the subject line, ending the post with, "Come find your tribe."
The hiring announcement comes shortly after Goyal teased the product on Instagram. He shared a minimal image with the word “Temple” and the line, “The most important wearable ever made.” The post, which ended with “Coming soon,” showed a close-up of a small white device placed near the temple area of the forehead. In the caption, he wrote, “A wearable like no other. Follow @temple to know when the waitlist opens.”
Temple first came into public discussion in November 2025, when Goyal spoke about what he called the “Gravity Ageing Hypothesis.” He suggested that gravity might slowly reduce blood flow to the brain over time, potentially contributing to ageing. Around the same period, images of him wearing a small device near his temple went viral. Goyal later confirmed that Temple is an experimental device designed to accurately measure brain blood flow and revealed that he had been testing it on himself for about a year. In December 2025, he hinted that the wearable could eventually be made available to the public.
Deepinder Goyal’s ‘Temple’ Hiring Post Sparks Buzz With Strict Fitness Rule
Deepinder Goyal has once again caught public attention, this time with a hiring announcement for his experimental wearable device, Temple. Sharing the update online, he said the project aims to create a high-precision wearable designed for elite performance athletes. He wrote, "We're recruiting at @temple. At Temple, we are building the ultimate wearable for elite performance athletes, a device that measures what no other wearable in the world measures, with a level of precision that does not exist yet."
He explained that the team is looking for people who are deeply passionate about both technology and fitness. According to Goyal, the ideal candidates are engineers who are also athletes and are willing to use and improve the product themselves. He added, "To build it, we need people who are obsessive about both the craft and the category, engineers who are also athletes, people who will wear what they build and hate it until it is perfect." The roles listed include engineers, neuroscientists, researchers and product managers.
The post gained the most attention because of its eligibility condition. Goyal clearly mentioned, "Important – we are building for people who push their bodies to the edge. We want to be those people, not just serve them, so only people who take fitness seriously and have body fat <16% for men and 26% for women should apply." He also said that those who are not there yet but are ready to reach the goal in three months can apply, though they will remain on probation until then.
The hiring drive follows a recent teaser shared for Temple, where Goyal described it as “The most important wearable ever made.” Earlier, he revealed that the device is an experimental tool focused on measuring brain blood flow and is linked to his “Gravity Ageing Hypothesis.” He has been testing the wearable himself for about a year and has hinted that it may be opened to the public in the future.
