Tensions escalated in Kanpur’s Bidhnu area on Wednesday following the alleged rape and murder of an 11-year-old girl. Hundreds of supporters from the Suhheldev Army, along with local residents, staged protests demanding strict action against the accused. Demonstrators also called for bulldozer action against the homes of those allegedly involved in the crime.

The protesters attempted to block the Kanpur-Sagar highway as part of their demonstration. However, the police, already on alert, intervened promptly and prevented them from reaching the highway. A brief confrontation took place between the police and protesters, but the situation was brought under control without disrupting traffic.

Officials stated that adequate police force was deployed in advance to manage the situation and maintain law and order. Due to timely intervention, vehicular movement on the highway remained unaffected, and no major escalation was reported during the protest.

Leaders of the protesting group said their agitation would continue until strict legal action is taken against the accused and their alleged illegal properties are demolished. Authorities have assured that the case is under investigation and necessary steps will be taken as per the law.
