Dhurandhar 2 Takes Early Lead Over Toxic in US Advance Bookings Ahead of Big Box Office Clash

New Delhi | 3 March 2026

The box office clash between Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is already gaining momentum as advance bookings begin in North America. Both big-budget films are set to release in theatres on March 19, making it one of the most talked-about clashes of the year. While advance bookings in India are yet to open, limited pre-sales in the US have started, and early trends show Dhurandhar 2 pulling ahead.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar 2 marks the return of Ranveer Singh as Hamza, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi. The sequel follows the massive success of the first part, which earned over ₹1300 crore worldwide. According to early data, Dhurandhar 2 has collected around $33,723 in US advance sales by March 1, selling around 1,953 tickets across 209 shows in 151 theatres. The number of shows is expected to rise in the coming days due to strong early demand.

On the other hand, Yash makes his return to cinemas with Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas. The film has so far opened advance bookings in 122 shows across 81 theatres in the US. Early collections stand at about $3,665, with around 189 tickets sold. Although Toxic is currently behind, trade experts believe the gap may reduce as more shows are expected to open in the coming weeks.

Dhurandhar 2 is a spy thriller inspired by true events and is set in Pakistan’s Lyari region. Along with Ranveer Singh, the film stars Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Sara Arjun, with Akshaye Khanna expected to appear in a cameo. Toxic, a high-octane action film, features Yash in multiple roles and also stars Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth. With strong fan bases on both sides, the coming weeks will be crucial in shaping the final box office outcome.
