Actor Suniel Shetty has revealed that he is yet to watch his son Ahan Shetty’s film Border 2, despite its strong performance at the box office. The veteran actor had earlier made a personal vow that he would only watch the film once it crossed the ₹500 crore mark, and he continues to stand by that decision.

Speaking to media during an event, Suniel Shetty explained the emotion behind his promise. He said, “Maine mann mein film dekhne se bahut pehle soch liya tha ki yaar deshbhakti ki film hein ₹500 crore toh honi chahiye.” He added that the film has almost reached the milestone and expressed hope that it would soon cross ₹500 crore, calling it a matter of emotion and faith rather than logic.

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Border 2 has earned ₹327 crore net in India and ₹447 crore gross worldwide after five weeks in theatres. Suniel also shared that although he has resisted watching the film, he has come close many times standing outside theatres, listening to Ahan’s dialogues, and quietly judging whether they felt right.

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is produced by T-Series and JP Films. The film is a spiritual sequel to JP Dutta’s 1997 classic Border and is set against the backdrop of the 1971 India-Pakistan war. Along with Ahan Shetty, the film features Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa and others in key roles.
